The Credit Alert Verification Reporting System (CAIVRS) is a federal interagency database of delinquent federal debtors. Access to CAIVRS is allowed for participating federal agencies and approved private lenders for the purpose of pre-screening the creditworthiness of applicants for federally guaranteed loans. For FHA-approved lenders, access to CAIVRS is via the FHA Connection website. For participating federal agencies (other than HUD) or authorized non-FHA approved lenders, access to CAIVRS is via the CAIVRS website. Below are links to basic information for participating federal agencies and non-FHA approved lenders: |

• | Register for CAIVRS: The participating CAIVRS federal agency or non-FHA approved lender designates two to four employees to administer the user IDs of its employees. They must register as Application Coordinators (or Agency Administrators). Once established, other employees can register as standard users. • | User ID Administration via FHA Connection: User ID administration is performed by the Application Coordinators via the FHA Connection. For their users, they grant CAIVRS authorization level, update basic user information, and reset passwords.
