Frequently Asked Questions - Case Transfer

Q1: When I attempt transfer using the "Case Transfer" function, I receive the error "ACCESS DENIED; USER NOT AUTHORIZED FOR CASE TRANSFER". How do I become authorized to use this function?
A1: If you get this error, your FHA Connection Application Coordinator has not set the Case Transfer authorization on your FHA Connection user ID. Please contact your FHA Connection Application Coordinator and request that they set the Case Transfer authorization on your FHA Connection user ID. If you do not know who that person is, please refer to the question "I do not know who my FHA Connection Application Coordinator is. How can I find out who that is and how to contact them?" in the General Questions section of the Frequently Asked Questions.
Q2: When I attempt a transfer using the "Case Transfer" function, I receive the error "CASE TRANSFER REJECTED; REQUESTING LENDER NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE CASE". How do I successfully transfer the case?
A2: Case Transfer requests have to be processed by the originating or sponsoring lender on the case. If your company is the originating or sponsoring lender and you are attempting to transfer the case to a different lender when you encounter this error, it is probably occurring because the Case Transfer request was already submitted. You can verify that this is the case by doing a query on the case number in the "Case Query" and looking at the names listed for the originating and sponsoring lender of the case.
Q3: When I attempt a transfer using the "Case Transfer" function, I receive the error "SPONSOR/AGENT ID NOT IN ORIGINATOR'S SPONSOR TABLE". How do I successfully transfer the case?
A3: How you would resolve this error depends on the situation. If you are making an entry only for the New Originator ID field, please contact the new originator and ask them for the lender ID of the sponsoring lender of this case. If entries are being made for both the New Originator ID and New Sponsor/Agent ID fields, please contact the new originator and inform them that their sponsor will have to add them as a loan correspondent before you can successfully process the transfer. If you are making an entry only for the New Sponsor/Agent ID field, please contact the sponsor you are transferring the case to and ask them to add your company as a loan correspondent.
Q4: When I attempt a transfer using the "Case Transfer" function, I receive the error "ORIGINATOR NOT APPROVED FOR H.U.D. PROCESSING IN THIS FIELD OFFICE". How do I successfully transfer the case?
A4: This error occurs when the lender ID being entered for the new originator is not approved in the field office the case number was assigned from. Please call the lender back and inform them that you were not able to transfer the case due the lender ID not being approved for origination in the field office the case number was assigned out of. You may also want to ask if they have a lender ID of another branch of theirs that may be approved in the field office.
